4 DAYS/3NIGHTS TRIP TOUR: MARANGU GATE (6000 FT) – MANDARA HUT - HOROMBO<br> Marangu Gate (6000 ft) – Mandara Hut (9,000 ft), Hiking time: 4 hours Habitat: Montane forest
Day 1:
Pick up from hotel 4:30 am and transfer to Zanzibar airport for Flight to Kilimanjaro depart 6:50 am, Arrive Kilimanjaro airport 8:10 am. Meet your driver and drive to about 45 minutes to Marangu Gate on the eastern side of Kilimanjaro. Do the necessary paperwork at the park gate such as registrations. Begin hiking at about 1000hrs. Hike through rainforest from the park gate (6000 ft) to Mandara Hut (9000 ft), taking about 4 hours. Overnight at Mandara Hut. Mandara Hut (9,000 ft) – Horombo Huts (12,000 ft), Hiking time: 6 hours Habitat: Heathland
Day 2:
Wake to breakfast (approx. 7:30am) and pack for the next leg. Break camp at about 8:30am and hike to Horombo Huts (12,000 ft). This leg should take 5 to 6 hrs. You travel through lower heath land with small shrubs being the main vegetation. Stop half way for lunch. Views of Mawenzi are amazing. The summit of Kibo can be seen from Horombo Huts. Arrive Horombo Huts at about 3 PM. Rest, unpack and prepare for dinner. Bathrooms are available with running water Extra Day for Acclimatization (OPTION):
Day 3:
You may have Extra day at Horombo Hut, where will have full day (second and third night will be at Horombo), clients will go up to Mawenzi base camp and come back to Horombo Hut. Clients will acclimatize, walking around at Horombo hut. Fourth Day will continue walking down to Mandara then to Marangu gate and transferred to Airport. Descending from Horombo to the Marangu Gate
Day 4:
Wake up as usual, pack and descend to Mandara Huts. Take lunch there and continue on to the park gate where you will be met by your transport back to Moshi. You should reach the park gate around 2 or 3 PM. Return to Kilimanjaro airport for flight back to Zanzibar 19:40hr arrive Zanzibar 20:40hr transfer back to the hotel

Health Requirements
Please note you will need a Yellow Fever Inoculation; this must be done no later than 10 days prior to departure. If you have had any previous history of Liver Disorders you must consult your physician first. Malaria prophylactics are a must.
Travel Insurance
Please ensure you have sufficient Medical Cover for the duration of your trip and in particular to cover you while doing the Kilimanjaro Climb. We recommend WORLD NOMADS
TIPPING
Tipping is highly appreciated at the end of safari/ hiking:
Tips will vary depending on the length and complexity of the trip, the number of staff on the trip and the number of clients on the trip. Generally, groups like to meet together before the end of the trek to discuss how much they would like to tip each staff member based on their individual trek experience.
You should prepare an envelope after your trek for your tip money at the Springlands Hotel.You can use US dollars, Euros, TZ Shillings or a combination of these. The envelope will be submitted to mountain coordinator;
The following are daily rates for each climber recommended to tip per staff member:

Each climber should expect to tip between US$ 250 – US$ 350 for the entire climb.
Driver Guide for the safari: US$ 25-35 per day, If is camping safari there will be a cook which the tip for a cook US$ 10 per day.
NB: THESE ARE JUST GUIDELINES AND TIPS CAN BE GIVEN TO SAFARI STAFFS/MOUNTAIN CREW ACCORDING TO SERVICES PROVIDED.
